Custom Made Gothic Clothing

For made-to-measure, custom-fit, or bespoke gothic clothing, small independent goth designers like us often offer the best options for individual tailored sizes and custom commissions, especially as The Last Kult operates on a made to order basis, so we can make adjustments to fit as we cut the fabric for your order for most common alterations that are needed.

One of the biggest problems with ready to wear sizing is that most humans are not an 'average' - we're a wonderful, dizzying array of shapes and heights, and that broad range of variety is normal!

But if you often find that clothing bought off the rack in a shop doesn't quite fit right; don't worry, it's not a you problem. It's a problem caused by the standardisation of garments to make mass production efficient.

You can consider the ready to wear sizing we offer as a base to start from, and then choose whether you want to add extra tweaks for fit or not.

Made to Measure Clothing

One of the most common alterations for fit we do is lengthening or shortening.

Our clothing is designed for women between 160-170cm/ 5ft 3 inches-5ft 6 inches in height, and for men between 170-182cm/ 5ft 7 inches- 6ft in height, but if you are shorter or taller than this range, we can ensure a better fit by increasing/ decreasing the length of garment sleeves, trouser legs or body length.

Another common fit problem, especially for us Eldergoths dealing with perimenopause/ menopause, is altering waistlines to deal with changing body shape as our hormones decrease and we get older.

To add an alteration to your purchase, see our Made To Measure Alterations page.

Custom Sizing

Unlike the made to measure on our existing sizes we offer, custom sizing is is basically for sizes outside our existing range. As it can depend on the amount of a particular fabric we have left and the complexity of each garment's design, prices for this will vary a lot, so best to drop us an email, to discuss availability and cost.

Custom Design

For a totally bespoke experience, you can request a custom design made for you, or even a whole outfit!

In these instances, it's definitely a case of email first! During busy periods of the year there might not be available time to fit in custom work, so it's always worth checking to see if we can fit you in.

Other things to consider is planning ahead, and cost. Bespoke can take several months of back and forth to create, so it's worth giving yourself plenty of time if you have a deadline you need it by. It's also quite pricey- dresses and outfits can easily be in the £1000 range.

But if we haven't given you sticker shock, feel free to get in touch for a quote :)
